漆扇 · Lacquer Fan
What it is

Marbled color, pulled from water.

A lacquer-style fan is a handmade craft inspired by flowing marbled color. Drops of dye float on the surface of water, swirl into a pattern, and transfer to silk in a single dip. Every fan is different — every pattern is a one-time event you can hold.

Premade fans are ready at the table to pick and take home. The DIY station lets visitors choose their own colors, drop them onto the water, and dip a blank fan to create something completely original. The whole process takes a couple of minutes.

The process · 漆扇

Five steps. A few minutes.

01
Choose your colors.
Pick two or three from the dye tray.
02
Drop dye onto water.
Watch the colors swirl and marble across the surface.
03
Dip the fan.
Lower it gently — the pattern transfers in seconds.
04
Lift and let dry.
Each fan is one-of-a-kind. No two ever match.
05
Take it home.
Each fan is one of one — a small keepsake.
⚠ Safety note

Splashes happen.

Kid-friendly station setup with table covers and drying space. Aprons or clothes that can handle small splashes are recommended.

✱ Care

Take-home tips.

Let the fan dry flat before packing. Keep it away from heavy moisture so the colors stay bright. The bamboo ribs love a gentle hand.
